Specialist shipwright, wooden boat builders, and refinishers offering a bespoke service with an emphasis on quality, detail, and tradition. They incorporate modern advances to strike a balance between time-honoured techniques that preserve tradition and modern materials that improve longevity.
Bower Marine Engineering
Providing a range of marine engineering services including servicing, re-powers, and full rebuilds. They’re able to work on a range of engines, inboard and stern drive gear work, and are trained in Volvo Penta.
Coast Marine Services
A boat-maintenance business offering a wide-ranging list of services. From diagnostics, boat and yacht management, to monthly maintenance, and polishing and detailing. They also provide an antifouling service, and can install marina fender pads, bluefin LED lights, and bow and stern thrusters from Sliepner too.
Dart Yacht Maintenance
A family-run boat repair company offering high-quality services including alterations, cleaning, polishing, painting, and even bow-thruster installation. The same quality repairs are offered for anything between a yacht, rib, or even a kayak.
Dartside Joinery
A father and son business producing cabinetry, hand made kitchens, custom stair cases, furniture, doors, and windows. They use materials that are sourced from local businesses as close as possible. They even recycle all of their waste.
High Tide Marine
A renovation business with nearly two decades of experience. Offering structural, gel-coat, paint, fibreglass, and carbon fibre repairs to machine cutting and polishing, teak deck renovation, and even bow and stern thruster installation
Offshore Turbine Services Ltd
Offshore Turbine Services offers a range of services, from single workboats to extensive packages that include project management and technicians. They specialise in wind farm construction, operations, and maintenance. They also offer diver and filimg support. With a fleet of 7 vessles and a range of project locations they provide a truly extensive service from their operations and store location at the Dolphin Boatyard.
Tonto Marine
An appointed service centre and dealer of Honda, Mercury, Tohatsu outboards, and Yanmar and Mercruiser sterndrives – they are also an appointed Whaly Boats stockist . They provide professional servicing, repairs, maintenance, and expertise on sailing boats, motor cruisers, power/sports boats, and yachts. They also sell engines, dinghies, small crafts, and various parts.
Dartmouth Rigging Solutions Limited
A Dartmouth-based company specialising in marine and architectual rigging. With a workshop in the Dartside Quay and a pontoon on the river Dart, they utilise over 50 years of experience to provide a bespoke service. Offering natural fibre, polyester, Dyneema, Vectran, Kevlar, Tehnora, and Polypropylene ropes which can all be hand-spliced. Decorative know and leatherwork is also on offer.
Ocean Conservation Trust
The Ocean Conservation Trust’s Sea Grass Nursery operates out of the boatyard. Blue Meadows delivers vitally important work to protect and restore seagrasses, one of the most valuable and biodiverse habitats on the planet, providing multiple benefits to the environment.
